Fun Run at Watkins Lake!

Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size Text Size Print This Page

This fall will mark two years since Watkins Lake became Michigan's 103rd State Park and first joint state park/county nature preserve. Situated in both Norvell Township in Jackson County and Manchester Township in Washtenaw County, it has two large areas of land connected by a disused rail bed that has been converted into a trail. This September, that trail will host the first official run in Watkins Lake! Organized and led by Sarah Felder, interpretive assistant for Washtenaw County, the run of up to 6 miles is scheduled for Saturday, September 8th at 10 am from the Arnold Road entrance. All ages and abilities are welcome. There is no charge to participate but a State of Michigan Recreation Passport is required for parking in the Watkins Lake parking lot on Arnold Road. The run will happen rain or shine (unless there is severe weather).

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
