Manchester District Library launches exciting new programs in September

Nights are getting cooler. The kids are heading back in school. Summer is winding down. And the staff at the Manchester District Library is ready for some early autumn fun! Beginning September 1, the library will be celebrating National Library Card Sign-up Month. And, of course, celebrating involves prizes for signing up for a new library card! Please see the front desk for a library card application.

In addition, in September, the library will be continuing weekly story time (Wednesdays at 10:30am), knit nights (Wednesdays at 6:30pm), and the adult book group, as well as hosting two special events. On Thursday, September 20 at 3:30 pm, it’s “What’s Inside? Electronics Take Apart.” Have you or your child ever wondered what’s inside the electronic gadgets and gizmos you have in your home, garage, shed? The library is giving you a chance to find out with a hands-on electronics take-apart event. We will provide the broken/discarded appliances, safety goggles, and tools. You provide the muscle and curiosity.

The final September event, a make-and-take, “No Supplies-No Problem” Card Making, will be taking place on Wednesday, Sept 26 at 6:30 (*Registration required—see front desk for details). Make two unique greeting cards with pieces of material, decorative papers, and printed images.

One last reminder: the library will be closed September 2 and 3 for Labor Day.
