Leaf pickup ongoing along village streets
The Village of Manchester Department of Public Works (DPW) is doing leaf pickup on village streets throughout November.
Leaves must be raked to the curb or roadside; not in the street, and leaf piles should not contain any sticks or brush, which could damage equipment or even injure workers. Watering the pile will help keep the leaves from blowing into neighboring yards.
The DPW crew is rotating throughout the community by neighborhood this year. If you noticed that leaves on your street were picked up on Monday last week, that will likely be the day they are picked up each week (weather permitting).
This is one of the services offered by the village to its residents. During the summer months, brush pickup and chipping is held on the first Monday of each month, May-October, excluding July. In January, DPW workers will remove fresh-cut Christmas trees that are left at the curb. Residents may call the village office to inquire about availability of wood chips.
More information can be found on the village’s website.
