Photos: Signs of the times
It’s been said many times over the past few weeks that “we are all in this together,” and nowhere is that more evident than in the Manchester business community. Local businesses are being creative in the way they deliver their services and local community members are being supportive in many ways–whether it is purchasing gift certificates for local shops and eateries, encouraging business owners and employees who are unable to carry on as usual, or something as simple as sharing a Facebook post to keep the word out about our valued merchants.
It’s lonely for the bunny in the window at River Raisin Antiques (and for owner Sue LaRocque, too). Call Sue if you need some Easter goodies from the store. She can accommodate you.
This sign at Reed Barbering was placed when the original order was established on March 20. The stay-at-home may be extended, according to some sources.
Local banks, including Comerica Bank and Old National, are working with clients by appointment. At American 1 Credit Union, the drive-through windows are open six days per week, 9 am to 1 pm
Local insurance offices, including Sutton Agency and State Farm, have suspended walk-in business but are still available by phone to help you.
Local restaurants are available primarily for carry out. It’s advisable to call ahead for your order so there’s no lines or lengthy wait.
Keep remembering that we’re all part of the same community, and be sure to welcome each of these businesses back as things begin to improve and the stay-at-home orders are eventually lifted.
