A Mothers Day treat

When school closed early for the year, Manchester’s School Lunch workers, Lisa Garrison, Tamra Belaire, Lynnette Clark, Susan DeSautel, Karen Lorincz, Jill Smith, and Dee Teresky became essential frontline workers. Since March 17th they’ve served more than 32,000 meals, braving wind, snow, rain, beating sun and freezing cold every Tuesday and Friday to provide breakfasts and lunches for Manchester’s children. On Friday they sent every family home with a Mother’s Day present as well!

The school is providing free breakfasts and lunches to all children in the district up to the age of 18, regardless of where they go to school; no matter their family’s income. This will continue through the end of June. If you are not yet receiving free meals for your child and would like to, click here or follow the link on the School District’s homepage. You can also call 734-428-9711 Ext. 1120 or email schoolclosuremeals@mcs.k12.mi.us.
