Joan Day (1939 - 2020)

Joan Day, age 80, of Manchester, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Cambrian of Tecumseh surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 13, 1939 to Benjamin & Doris (Wurster) Evilsizer in Sharon Twp, MI.  Joan married the love of her life Curtis Day on March 24, 1958 in Tennessee, he preceded her in death October of 2005. Joan worked for GM in Tecumseh as well as Sarns (now Terumo) in Ann Arbor. More notably she is known for working at the Manchester Locker for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, gardening and clogging. Joan was a very good bowler and her team always made it into the championships. She is a lifelong member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Manchester, where she volunteered. She loved her Family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids.

Joan Will be missed by, her loving children, Faye (Terry) Walter Of Manchester; Tony (Bill Crowell) Day of Grass Lake; her adored grandchildren, Kevin (Colleen) Walter and Brandi (Matt) O’Brien; her beloved great-grandchildren, Ezra and Connor; sister Jean Smith; her sisters-in-law, Ruth Johnson; her Brothers-in-law, John (Sharon) Day and Jack (Bridget) Day; her uncle Ralph (Phyllis) Wurster; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jerry Evilsizer; her brothers-in-law, Grant Smith and Paul Johnson.

The family of Joan Day would like to thank Lenawee Hospice, Cambrian and the entire memory care staff for their continual care and support.

Due to the COVID-19 mandates, a private family gathering will take place at Eineder‘s Borek Jennings Funeral Home - Manchester Chapel.  Interment to take place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manchester.  Pastor Chris Kurtz to officiate. Public gathering and memorial services will be announced at a later date.
