Churches plan community, individual Holy Week services

Emanuel Church is located on West Main Street.

The week, from Palm Sunday (which was March 28) to Easter Sunday, is commonly known as "Holy Week" in the Christian Church. Local churches are planning both individual and joint services.

Emanuel United Church of Christ, 324 W. Main Street, will be having a Maundy Thursday worship service on Thursday, April 1 at 7 pm.

A community Good Friday Service on Friday, April 2, will be hosted by Manchester United Methodist Church, 501 Ann Arbor Street, with local ministers: Rev. Dillon Burns from Manchester UMC, Rev. Pete Harris from Sharon UMC, Rev. David Bucholtz from Bethel UCC, and Rev. Chris Kurtz from Emanuel UCC. The service will be live streamed at 12 noon.

Emanuel is planning two Easter morning services, at 8 and 10 a.m.
