Volunteers will be selling ice cream in front of Emanuel Church from the food trailer Wednesdays through Sundays from 3 to 8 pm.

Emanuel Church has a mission "to serve our community and its people in any way we can," says Karen Bennett.

Whether it be within the church or out somewhere helping and blessing others, the members of Emanuel want to be involved.

One way that they have chosen to be present in the Manchester community is by providing, for the second summer in a row, their ice cream trailer to make sure the town has some "cool" treats this season. Each week, Wednesday through Sunday, from 3-8 pm, volunteers will be serving up ice cream, in bowls or in cones; root beer floats; and novelty ice cream treats.

Pricing is reasonable so you can treat the entire family. A single scoop is $2, double scoops are $3. Root beer floats are just $4, and ice cream novelties are $1 for small and $2 for large. Scooped ice cream flavors will include chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, mint chocolate chip, butter pecan, black cherry, chocolate swirl, and chocolate caramel, on a rotating basis.

Volunteers from throughout the community are welcome to join Emanuel's members in this effort, and can find a time to sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090d4caaa923a6fc1-emanuel

"We want to be the hands and feet of Jesus," Bennett says. "This year our Mission Board at Emanuel has supported the Community Resource Center, Manchester Family Service, Manchester Co-op Preschool, the HEH Food Box Giveaway, the upcoming Covid Resilience workshop and other community activities."

This past weekend, the group was even out sharing free ice cream bars at the canoe race. "Our ice cream trailer is a means that helps Emanuel give back to our community in these ways and more," Bennett continues.

"We are always dreaming about how we can serve and give to others. If we can make a small difference in our community by spreading the love of Christ, that is a blessing we want to share — even through an ice cream cone!"
