Coming this week — Fairy Garden Market at Manchester Farmers Market!

submitted by Laura Wohlgemuth, Acorn Farmers' Market & Café Board

Acorn’s Outdoor Market will be hosting a special Fairy Garden Market this Thursday, May 20, complete with all the supplies you’ll need to create a magical fairy garden. You can even learn about the history of Fairy Gardens!

Clever Creations by Amy will have adorable baby fairies, fairy doors, gnomes, mushrooms, and other fairy garden accessories. She will also have dragon eggs and much more!

The Manchester Area Garden Inspiration Club (MAGIC) will be there to promote their club that spreads its own MAGIC by tending to and creating beautiful gardens all around town. Susan will also share the history Thwaites and the evolution of Fairy Gardens — evolution to patios and back decks we have today. Couldn’t we all use a little "magic" in our lives?

Lavender and Grace Farm will have a lovely variety of unique perennials for any garden: six varieties of Lavender, 20 different perennials, flower baskets, and drop flower pots. They also have dried lavender and a lot of new soaps and lotion bars. Everything lavender and more!

Our other vendors will also have some wonderful items too like honey, human and dog treats, wizard ones and handmade journals, eggs, baked goods, soaps, body scrubs, bar shampoo for both humans and pets, potholders, kitchen towels, crocheted keychains and jewelry, and many other handmade items!

Also, back by popular demand.....The Manchester Fairy Garden Contest hosted by Acorn Farmers' Market & Café.

To enter, participants create a fairy garden that is displayed in their front yard to contribute towards The Manchester Fairy Garden Tour for the Manchester community. Once you’ve created your fairy garden, submit your name and address to farmersmarket48158@gmail.com. We will use these addresses to create a map for the community to go on The Manchester Fairy Garden Tour to view all of the fairy gardens, including the fairy doors in downtown! Maps will be available at Acorn’s Outdoor Market on Thursday, May 27.

A panel of judges will view all of the gardens and will vote on first, second, and third place winners! First Place will receive a $20 Acorn Farmers’ Market & Café certificate; Second Place will receive a $15 Acorn Farmers’ Market & Café certificate; and Third Place will receive a $10 Acorn Farmers’ Market & Café certificate.

Deadline for contest submissions is Monday, May 24 by NOON. Winners will be announced Thursday, May 27.
