The Summer Reading Program at Manchester District Library (MDL) — offering activities and prizes for participants of all ages — will run June 11 through July 30, 2021.

This year’s theme celebrates a love of reading with particular focus on animal stories: Tails and Tales. Theme and artwork are courtesy of the Collaborative Summer Library Program (a 35-year-old organization providing planning tools and resources to encourage reading and engagement) and children’s book author / illustrator Salina Yoon.

Adults, teens, and kids can all join the fun by completing a variety of reading goals and other activities. An MDL library card is not required to participate. Small prizes will be awarded for progress throughout the summer, and there will also be drawings for larger prizes at the End of Summer Reading Bash on July 30.

MDL hosted an official Kick Off party at Chi-Bro Park on June 11 at 1:00 pm. Missed it? Don’t worry! You can register anytime during the program: online, in person at the library, or by phone at (734) 428-8045.

Current Manchester District Library hours are Monday-Friday 11 am-6 pm and Saturday 10 am-2 pm. The most up-to-date hours and the latest news are always available on the MDL website.

Manchester District Library (MDL) is proud to serve the Village of Manchester, Manchester Township, Bridgewater Township, and Freedom Township. Village of Clinton and Clinton Township residents are also eligible for MDL library cards and welcome to use all MDL resources.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
