Originally scheduled to be held August 18-22, 2020 and postponed for a year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 76th Manchester Community Fair is finally here! Next week, from August 10th through August 14th, the Manchester Community Fair returns to Alumni Memorial Field located at the corner of Wolverine St. and Vernon St. in the Village of Manchester.

Admission for ages 9 & up will be $5 on Tuesday and Saturday; and $9 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Admission is good for the whole day. Attendees can alternately purchase a season pass, good for admission every day, for $30. Admission for children ages 8 and under is free! There is no additional cost for events but is a separate cost for carnival rides and food.

As is traditional, the Fair will kick off with the Fair Parade through the Village starting at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, August 10th. To be part of the parade, line up between 5:30 and 6 pm on Duncan Street between Wolverine and Torrey streets (enter from Torrey street end). Gary Bross is this year’s parade Grand Marshal. After the parade, the Crowning of the Queen will take place at the fair grounds

In addition to the parade and Queen crowning, Tuesday will feature classic and antique tractor pulls and steer judging. Wednesday, August 11th will feature compact tractor pulls, lamb judging, kids power wheel derby, KOI drag racing, and swine judging. Thursday, August 12th will feature the senior citizens program (with attendees ages 62 & over, free until 5 pm), Warehouse Cloggers, kids power wheel derby, Lost Nations Rodeo; and the steer, lamb, and swine auction. Friday, August 13th will feature kids' activities and games; foam pit; and the International Demolition Derby. Anderson Midways will be returning with rides and concessions. The Midway opens at 5 pm on Tuesday; 3 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday; and 1 pm on Saturday. If you plan to ride rides multiple days, you may want to opt for a mega pass. Mega passes, which allow you to ride all week for $60, are on sale now at American 1 Credit Union and Old National Bank. This year “Toddler Time” returns on Friday, August 13th from 1 to 3 pm, during which armbands are $6 for attendees six years old and under.
