Join Manchester District Library (MDL) for the final month of summer programs. MDL staff will make appearances all over town, online, and at Village building for an exciting roster of events.

Student Headphone Drive

Ongoing through September 17 | in support of Manchester Community Schools

Students use headphones for digital learning and standardized tests all year long. Help make sure that no child goes without this essential school supply by donating on-ear or over-ear style headphones at the library. MDL staff will get them into the right hands at Klager Elementary and Riverside Intermediate Schools.

Outdoor Story time

Tuesdays through August 24 | 11am | Chi-Bro Park

Don’t miss the last month of summer story time! Meet Miss Stacia at the Chi Bro Park Pavilion, rain or shine. Stories and activities are intended for preschoolers, but all are welcome. BYO blanket or lawn chairs.

Jellyfish Sun-catchers

Saturday, August 7 | a Facebook virtual event

Learn how to make a cool jellyfish sun-catcher with local art teacher Julianna Berry. Materials available for pickup from the library while supplies last.

Friends of the Library Book Donation Day

Saturday, August 7 | 10 am-noon | Village Room

Donate gently-used books to the Friends of the Library Book Sale; proceeds benefit the library. Popular fiction and non-fiction books for all ages are welcome; textbooks, magazines, encyclopedias, Readers’ Digest books, or books that are moldy, mildewed, or damaged cannot be accepted.

Adult Book Club

Wednesday, August 18 | 7 pm | Carr Park

Discuss what you're reading this summer and give input on book selections for the upcoming season (Sept-May). BYO blanket or lawn chair.

Free Comic Book Day

Thursday, August 19 | 3-7 pm | Acorn Farmers’ Market & Café (Manchester Market)

Visit Miss Stacia during the outdoor market and take home a free comic book in honor of the day. While supplies last.

Folded Paper Sunflowers

Saturday, August 21 | 11 am | Chi-Bro Park

Join us for a simple make-and-take origami craft project. Materials provided.

In the event of inclement weather, outdoor programs may be cancelled, rescheduled, or switched to virtual. Check Facebook or call the library at (734) 428-8045 for updates.
