Free hayrides are always a part of 3rd Thursday fun

Come downtown this Thursday evening for the last 3rd Thursday event of the season! This Thursday, September 16th from 5 to 8 pm, come enjoy entertainment, food, shopping, kid activities, and more!

Spend time downtown enjoying live rockabilly music by John Louis Good and the Rose City Troubadours on the Mill porch, belly dancing performances by Shannon Seidelman, and juggling demonstrations by Eric Walter.

Shop the 15 vendors at the vendor market on Adrian Street including home based party consultants from Color Street Nails, Usbourne Books and Paparazzi Jewelry, as well as a variety of crafters with hair bows, seasonal crafts, wood working, seasonings that include spices, rubs and dip mixes, and also our local student-run business Bamboo Accessories and More (BAAM).

Kids will enjoy the children’s activities in the alley. Kids of all ages can enjoy the free hayride and treats from the KONA ice truck, a fundraiser for the Klager and Riverside PTO. Stores and restaurants will be offering specials and some stores will have extended hours.

The first 3rd Thursday event was held in 2018, organized by Sue LaRocque, Linda Stevens, Mary Bortmas, Jason Heinrich, Crystal Fahey and Jennifer Wojtowicz to get more activity happening downtown. The event, now in its third year as it took 2020 off, has received a grant from MI Realtors Lighter, Quicker, Cheaper Grant. This grant supports community initiatives and placemaking in small communities in Michigan.
