Christian speaker Beth Grate will visit Victory Baptist church on three successive Sundays, starting Sept. 19.

Human trafficking may be closer than you think!

According to speaker Beth Grate, there are more slaves in the world today than at any other time in human history.

Beth, who will be a guest speaker at Victory Baptist for a three-week series, became aware of human trafficking after a personal encounter in the early 2000s. Since then, she has become an advocate for human trafficking victims, both here in Michigan and around the globe. She is a person of faith who loves the Lord Jesus Christ.

The events will be held Sept 19, 26, and Oct 3, from 5:30 - 7:30 pm at Victory Baptist Church, 419 S. Macomb St. in Manchester.

On September 19 and 26, Beth will look below the surface at five major categories of human trafficking — sex, labor, child soldier/gang, organ, and adoption. On October 3, Beth's topic will be "Toxic Charity" — how the efforts of those seeking to help can sometimes complicate and even add to the problem, and what we can do instead.

There is no charge for these seminars; however, a love offering will be taken.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
