The holiday season, beginning in late November and continuing through New Year, is considered by most to be one of joyous celebration. Most people gather with family and friends to share meals and gifts, and it is seen as a happy time of year. But it isn’t happy for everyone. Christmas and the holiday season can be a painful time for those who are grieving. It may remind many people of what they have lost or even what they may never have had.

This Thursday, December 16, at 7 pm, Manchester United Methodist Church is holding a Longest Night Service for those in need of joy and hope this holiday season. This special worship service is intentionally designed to provide a moment of peace and rest in the midst of the busy and sometimes overwhelming Christmas festivities. All are welcome.
