Sonja Jean Rhees (February 11, 1952- December 11, 2021)

Sonja Jean Rhees, 69, of Manchester, passed away peacefully at her home on, Saturday, December 11, 2021.  Sonja’s family and friends will gather Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Eineder Funeral Homes - Manchester Chapel. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 11:00 am, following the visitation from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church (210 W. Main St), Manchester.  Interment to take place at Brookside Cemetery in Tecumseh following the Mass.  Fr. Bosco Padamattummal will serve as celebrant.

She was born on February 11, 1952, in Tecumseh, Michigan to Henry and Betty (Pask) Strand, Jr. Sonja married, Robert Rhees, in Manchester, MI. Sonja was extremely devoted in prayer and a long-time parishioner of the St. Mary Roman Catholic Church of Manchester. She was always active in the community and proud supporter of the Manchester Men’s Club. Sonja loved to dance, spend time with her friends and family, tending her garden and being outside in the sunshine. Sonja will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Sonja is survived by her son, Donny Jones of Tecumseh; step children, Robert Rhees; and Wendy Rhees; siblings; Maddonna Logan of Tecumseh; Terry (Mary) Strand of Clinton, MI; Mark (Bertha) Strand of Tecumseh; Joann (Greg) DeClercq of Adrian; Marcy Nolan of Adrian; Tina (Ivan) Eberly of Brooklyn; Darlene (Bruce) Yager of Onsted; and Mitchell Strand of Eaton Rapids; grandchildren DJ Jones; Andrea Jones; Dustin Jones; Jessie Jones; Callie Palmer; and Allicia “Lou” Hollangsworth; four great grandchildren; her significant other, Jim Montgomery and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; son, Eddie Jones; siblings, Carol Whelan and Fred Strand.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Lenawee and her two caregivers, Leslie Wolfe and Dominique Walker.
