Howard Lear Badgero (May 3, 1940 - January 19, 2022)

Howard Lear Badgero, 81, of Manchester peacefully passed away January 19, 2022, at home surrounded by his family and friends. Howard’s family and friends will gather on Friday, January 28, 2022 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Sharon United Methodist Church – Fellowship Hall at 19980 W. Pleasant Lake Road, Manchester, MI, and Saturday, January 29 from 10:00 – 11:00 am at Sharon United Methodist Church – Fellowship Hall. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. A celebratory luncheon will be held in the hall immediately following the service at noon.

He was born on May 3, 1940, in Traverse City, Michigan to Howard Leroy and Bessie (Lear) Badgero. A Traverse City graduate of 1958, Howard married his beloved wife Miriam Margaret Miller on December 29, 1962, in Detroit, Michigan. He will be remembered as a proud family man, father of two, and grandfather of five. People will remember him as Santa Claus to all kids and was a neighborhood watcher. A retired flooring salesman from Hudson’s after 41 years of service, he loved to socialize with all walks of life including four-legged furry friends. Favorite activities were watching NASCAR racing and volunteering. He was charitable to homeless folks, humane society, friends, family, Michigan International Speedway (MIS), and Detroit Grand Prix. Above all loved the great outdoors, dancing, and working with his hands!

Howard will be missed by his children, Mark (Diane) Badgero of Livonia and Nicole Badgero-Drake of Manchester; grandchildren Patrick (Amanda) Badgero of Troy, Alice Badgero of Livonia, Deborah (Fiancé-Ronald Erin Holcomb) Badgero of Walled Lake, Aana and Christine Drake of Manchester. He is preceded in death by his wife, Miriam, his parents, Howard and Bessie, and siblings: Robert Badgero, Betty Sanders, and Nancy Pozar.
