Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation will be holding a winter birding walk in the Clark & Avis Spike Preserve on Saturday, February 26 from 8 am to 10 am. One of the Manchester area county preserves, the Spike Preserve is located at 18700 Grass Lake Road in Sharon Township. In the crisp morning air you’ll gaze upon nuthatches foraging their food stashes, a hawk soaring overhead looking for a meal, and enjoy many other daily routines of winter birds. The walk will be led by park naturalist, Kelsey Dehring. All levels of birders are welcome. Please bring your own binoculars. Limited to 12 birders. Registration required. Email Kelsey at dehringk@washtenaw.org to register.

For as little as $1 a month, you can keep Manchester-focused news coverage alive.
