Parks Commission to hold clean-up day April 9

Chi-Bro Park is just one of the parks that will see a thorough clean-up on April 9 from 10 am to noon.
Would you like to do your part to help make Manchester a little more beautiful this spring?
The Manchester Village Parks Commission is planning a Parks Clean Up Day from 10 am to noon this coming Saturday, April 9. Each of the village parks will be ready for trash pick up, brush clean-up, and any other “spring cleaning” tasks to help prepare for the many spring and summer events that happen in all of our village parks.
A member of the Parks Commission will be at each of the parks to help provide direction and guidance. The DPW will provide bags and identify a location in each park to pile any brush, for pick up on Monday.
Consider this a “Community-wide Call to Action!” Whether or not you live within the village, you and your family probably take advantage of their amenities throughout the year. Youth baseball at Kirk Park, fishing, canoeing and kayaking at River Raisin Park, summer concerts at Wurster Park, Easter Egg Hunt and Fireworks at Carr Park, enjoying nature walks around the pond at Chi-Bro Park, picnics and play equipment at all of the different locations, shooting hoops at the basketball courts, and many more. What a great way to give back to our community and show your pride in our village parks.
Just two hours of your time can make such a difference and provide a rewarding experience for you, too!
If you can’t make it to the park during the specified hours, consider taking a walk along our shared use trails or through the downtown area. Carry a bag with you and pick up any trash you find. Dispose of the bag in any of the village trash containers downtown, or in your own trash container at home.
Remember … Earth Day is Every Day!
