Chamber Spotlight: Village Hair Forum
by Linda Stevens
The Village Hair Forum (VHF) is an all-inclusive hair salon, catering to the hair care needs of the whole family with some fun and pampering services as well. It is a relaxed environment where we strive to find your unique style, offering hair cutting and styling, coloring, texturizing treatments and perms, conditioning and clarifying treatments, formal styling, facial waxing, facials, manicures, and ear piercing. My favorite salon brands are Matrix Biolage, Moroccanoil, Pulp Riot, and Olaplex. I carry retail products as more are becoming available again. I can order most anything you need.
The VHF has been in the same spot in the mill at 201 E Main St since the early ’80s when Don Limpert purchased it and renovated it for retail space. It was the first business to open there and the only original one still there.
I came to work for Pat Spaulding in the late 80s because my daughter was in school at the time and I wanted to work close by. I took ownership in the mid 90s. Once there, I just never left; probably because I’ve had the best clients who have mostly turned into dear friends. I love you alI.
It’s great to share stories with longtime residents as well as newcomers to our town. Over the years I’ve had clients from 1 to 100 years old and I’ve watched many businesses come and go; it’s hard to be successful in a small rural community. Most wouldn’t survive, the VHF included, without the support of our great residents.
Manchester is a great community of people who love and support each other and our commerce. (No matter what social media says.)
Spring is here. Enjoy all Manchester has to offer.
