For the 41st year the Manchester Men’s Club will host the annual Independence Day fireworks on July 3 (with a rain date of July 4) at Carr Park in Manchester.

“We are shooting $15,000 total this year, which will be comparable to previous years with the increased cost in fireworks,” said the Men’s Club. “This year we are fortunate to have taken on a corporate sponsor, American One Credit Union, who made a significant donation for that honor towards next year’s show.”

The Men’s Club relies totally on donations from the community to ensure the fireworks go on year after year.

One change in parking near Carr Park, according to Village Manager Michael Sessions, is that since Galloway Drive is already closed during the event due to its proximity to where the fireworks are set off, there will also be limited parking in the Emerald Glen subdivision. “We cannot close down the subdivision because of the number of houses and it would prevent access for the residents,” Sessions said. “But we will work on developing a traffic control order to prohibit parking on one side of the streets, to alleviate congestion.”

The Men’s Club asks that attendees respect not only the parking orders but also assist with cleanup as they leave the park. Your cooperation in being a “good neighbor” is appreciated!
