The Washtenaw County Road Commission continues its work in the Manchester area this week, with new and ongoing projects in Manchester, Freedom, Bridgewater, and Sharon Townships.

In Bridgewater, dust control operations will affect many unpaved local roads with intermittent lane restrictions. This work is expected to continue through July 27.

Manchester Township is experiencing gravel resurfacing between Sharon Hollow and Deer Valley on Herman Road, with intermittent lane restrictions expected. This work has been extended from July 19 to 24.  Gravel resurfacing is also happening in Sharon Township, on Meyers Road between Bethel Church and Pleasant Lake Roads, causing intermittent lane restrictions from July 19 to 24. For questions on these two projects, contact Jared Powers at powersj@wcroads.org.

In Freedom, work on Pleasant Lake Road between Schneider and Parker has been extended through July 21 with high friction surface replacement. Earlier this year, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) installed flashing beacons at the intersection of Pleasant Lake Road and Schneider Road, as well as the intersection of Pleasant Lake Road and Parker Road. Additionally, over the past few weeks, crews have been replacing and upgrading the signage along Pleasant Lake Road between Schneider Road and Parker Road.  This week, motorists can expect lane restrictions as the contractor wraps up placing high friction surface placement along Pleasant Lake Road. The last step will be placing new pavement markings, however, the timeframe for this work is still yet to be determined. Project leader is Becky Houle at houleb@wcroads.org.
