Manchester Junior-Senior High School’s Students of the Month for December have been selected. Students are selected for Student of the Month awards for promoting a good way of life; for working and getting along with people; for working up to their capacity; for inspiring respect for adults, peer groups, and people in authority; for promoting good citizenship; for promoting self-control, ambition, responsibility, and self-reliance; for having desirable leadership; for promoting friendship and being personable; and for aiding and encouraging the development of others with whom they are associated.

December’s students of the month are Samantha Gautz (7th Grade), Anna Duvall (8th Grade), Samantha Muntz (Freshman), Siera Jedele (Sophomore), and Evan Lasky (Junior).

Miranda Austin

Senior Miranda Austin is the Student of the Month candidate for the Class of 2024. She has been on the robotics team (6081 Digital Dislocators), varsity soccer, NHS, and SRSLY Manchester prevention coalition. She is president of the Student Council and DECA. She serves as the student representative to the Board of Education and the PTSA. Miranda plans on attending the University of Michigan to study public policy and government. Last May she helped organize a campaign for mental health awareness and destigmatization.

Outside of school, Miranda enjoys bullet journalling, reading, and meeting and learning about new people and cultures.

Miranda, as a senior, is eligible to compete for the Manchester Community Schools Foundation scholarship as one of the 10 senior students selected throughout the year.
