Dianne Ruth Schwab (April 25, 1935 – January 6, 2024)

Dianne Ruth Schwab, 88, of Traverse City passed away at Joy Givers Senior Home on January 6, 2024. Dianne’s family and friends will gather on Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 4pm to 6pm at Eineder Funeral Homes — Manchester Chapel and Monday, January 22, 2024, from 10am to 11am at St. Joe’s Catholic Church in Dexter, Mich. (Country Church, 6805 Mast Rd, Dexter, MI 48130). Her Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 11am at St. Joe’s Catholic Church. Presiding will be Father Brendan Walsh. Interment of ashes will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Manchester, Mich.

Dianne was born on April 25, 1935, in Ann Arbor, Mich., to Harold and Ruth (Steinaway) Ahrens. She was a 1953 graduate of Manchester High School. Dianne married the love of her life, the late Bill Schwab, on June 23, 1956, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manchester, Mich. They had 59 wonderful years together before his passing in 2015.

Dianne was an active member of the Saint Joseph Catholic Church until her move to Traverse City in 2018. She loved people and was driven to live her life by her faith in Christ, dedicated to being of service to her family and her community. Her legacy lives on in her beloved grandchildren, people she helped, and the many organizations she was a part of.

Dianne will be greatly missed by her children, Philip (Jan) Schwab, Kenneth (Lisa) Schwab, Laura Schwab, Carolyn Schwab, and Mark Schwab; sibling, Leonard (Carolyn) Ahrens; sister-in-law, Wanda Watson; grandchildren, Patrick, Kaitlin (Juan), Evan, Lexie (Dan), Ariel (Nick), and Jonathan (Sarah); four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and best friends, Elaine Ewald and Joan Withrow. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; and brother, Ronald Ahrens.
