NOTICE OF REGISTRATION FOR THE

PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY,

FEBRUARY 27, 2024

MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN

TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP: 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that any qualified elector of Manchester Township who is not already registered, may register to vote at their office of the Township Clerk; the office of the County Clerk; a Secretary of State branch office; or other designated state agency.   Registration forms can be obtained at mi.gov/vote and mailed to the Township Clerk. Voters who are already registered may update their registration at www.expressSOS.com. 

The last day to register in any manner other than in-person with the local clerk is February 12, 2024. 

After this date, anyone who qualifies as an elector may register to vote in person with proof of residency at their clerk’s office. (MCL 168.492) Manchester Township:

 MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP TOWN HALL: 275 S Macomb St

  •  Regular business hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30am to 12pm 
  •  Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 9am to 5pm
  •  Election Day, Tuesday, February 27, 2024, from 7am to 8pm

Also, to vote yes or no on the following proposal: 

Columbia School District Operating Millage Renewal Proposal

This proposal will allow the school district to continue to levy the statutory rate of not to exceed 18 mils on all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, required for the school district to receive its revenue per pupil foundation allowance and renews millage that will expire with 2024 tax levy.

Shall the currently authorized millage rate limitation of 19 mills ($19.00 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property, except principal residence and other property exempted by law, in Columbia School District, Jackson, Lenawee, Washtenaw and Hillsdale Counties, Michigan, be renewed for a period of 5 years, 2025 to 2029, inclusive, to provide funds for operating purposes; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and 18 mills are levied in 2025 is approximately $5,081,155 (this is a renewal of millage that will expire with the 2024 tax levy)?
