There are two questions that are so important for every adult to ask themselves because every person will have to deal with these questions in one way or another during their lifetime. First, if you did not wake up tomorrow, what would happen to your assets, or your children? Second, if you woke up tomorrow and were suddenly unable to make decisions for yourself, who would make decisions for you, and what decisions would they make? According to a 2021 Gallup poll, only 46% of U.S. adults have a will, with the most likely subgroup to be those aged 65 and older. These are the topics of conversations that most adults avoid.

Let’s change the avoidance to information! The Manchester Area Senior Citizens Council is giving you an opportunity to get information and answers to your questions. Laurie Brewis, Probate and Estate Planning Attorney with the TGQ Law Firm, will be on hand to provide you with information to help get this conversation started with your loved ones or make decisions for yourself, Monday, February 19, 2024, from 2 to 4pm, 912 City Rd, Village Room.

Some common questions that will be addressed are:

• What is the difference between a will and a trust?
• I’ve heard about a “Ladybird Deed.” What is it? How does it work?
• Should I add my children to my checking account?
• Should I add my children to my deed?
• What if I need Medicaid for long-term care someday — what are some things I should consider?

What question will you bring?
