Robert Duaine VanDoren (May 12, 1935 - February 21, 2024)

Robert Duaine VanDoren, 88, of Manchester passed away, Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Trinity Health – St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Bob’s family and friends will gather Friday, March 1, 2024 from 11:00 am -12:00 am at Eineder Funeral Homes - Manchester Chapel. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 pm. Pastor Tom Waller of Sharon Church will serve as celebrant. There will be a private burial of ashes at Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date. 

He was born on May 12, 1935, in Adrian, Michigan to Carl and Cora (Downard) VanDoren. Bob married, Jane Allan- Handy, on June 11, 1977, in Manchester, Michigan.   He will be remembered as a very honest and caring man that was morally astute. Bob was a good husband and provider that had a gift of gab. He was a wonderful storyteller. Bob was known to attend tractor pulls where he enjoyed elephant ears. He was a huge fan of the Detroit Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, and the Manchester Flying Dutchman football team. He could fix anything and was a great teacher and father to more than his own children. Bob was one of the good guys who will be missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Bob is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane; his children Terry (Kim) VanDoren, Victoria (Deepak Thapaliya) Eaton, and Pamela Handy; siblings, Mary (David) Burhard, Wanda House and Albert (Judy) VanDoren; grandchildren Lacea, Becky, Lauren, Christina, Tate, TJ, and Josh; great grandchildren Anna, Jackson, Ryker, Hunter, Grayson and Brendan; many loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Cora; a daughter, Cynthia; sisters, Jeanette and Cathy; brothers, Carl, Jr., Richard, Donald, Gary, Ronald and Dale.
