On Monday, February 26, 2024, the Washtenaw County Road Commission (WCRC) will close Pleasant Lake Rd between Smythe Rd and M-52 in Sharon Township to replace a crossroad culvert. The road improvements are expected to take approximately one day. However, all dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions.

In early February, a contractor for WCRC closed Sharon Valley Rd, over River Raisin, between Sharon Hollow Rd and Meyers Rd in Sharon Township for permitted soil boring (soil samples) work. The permitted work is related to preparation for the bridge replacement planned for 2025.

Due to subsurface water issues that have been encountered during this permitted work, the closure will be extended until the WCRC contractor can finish collecting soil samples. We hope to re-open the road early next week. WCRC will continue to send out updates as the project progresses.

For specific questions regarding the Sharon Valley Rd project, please contact Nate Murphy, Senior Project Manager — Design & Construction, at (734) 327-6647 or murphyn@wcroads.org.
