Obituary: Gloria Gay Roulo

Gloria Gay Roulo (November 18, 1951  - March 29, 2024)

Gloria Gay Roulo, 72, of Ann Arbor left this earth for a new adventure on Friday, March 29. She was surrounded by her beloved family.

Gay was born on November 18, 1951 in Ypsilanti, the second child of Ralph and Myrtie (McCabe) Roulo who both preceded her in death. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1969 and worked for 30 years at Ford Motor Company, in Saline.

She married the great love of her life, David Kingsbury, on July 4, 1981 and he survives. She is also survived by her children, Lewie (Stefany) Rose and Heather Kingsbury and her precious granddaughter, Charlotte Rose. In addition to her immediate family, she is survived by her dear siblings, Bernard (Marlene) Roulo, Bradley (Paulette) Roulo, and many nieces and nephews who adored her. She was also preceded in death by her big sister, Joy Felan.

Gay was a strong and vibrant person who brought laughter and happiness to all those she knew. She was a great conversationalist, a deep thinker, and eccentric in the best ways. She enjoyed traveling, visiting with friends and family, and occasionally breaking the rules. She had a contagious laugh, gave the best hugs, and loved those around her deeply. She will be greatly missed, but her wild and generous spirit will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew her.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Nie Funeral Home - 3767 W. Liberty Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48103. Friends and family are welcome to begin gathering at 2:00pm.

To honor Gloria’s memory, the family is considering a memorial bench in her honor at a local park. Any donations to help create the bench would be graciously appreciated. Donations may be made by:
