If you are passionate about helping Manchester Eat Better, Move More, Connect with Others in Healthy Ways, or Avoiding Unhealthy Substances, the Manchester Wellness Coalition (MWC) would like to hear from you. Beginning April 1, 2024, MWC has a $25,000 budget to support local wellness projects that impact our community residents. Sponsoring organizations must be a 501(c)(3) or have a non-profit fiscal agent.  Proposals must address one of the four pillars of the 5 Healthy Towns Foundation.

In addition to funding for larger projects, MWC also has $2,500 to support onetime sponsorship events. Last year the coalition funded the 5 Healthy Towns Farm to Table event, community meals at Emanuel Church of Christ, and other local programs.

Ray Berg, coalition chairperson, reported at the March MWC meeting that special consideration would be given to proposals that support our older adult community. “The Manchester Area Senior Citizens Council (MASCC) has had to endure some big changes this past year, and the wellness coalition is looking for ways to help,” said Ray.

For more information, contact Berg at rayberg@att.net and request the project proposal form. After completion, you will be added to a future coalition meeting agenda to present your idea.

The next MWC meeting is Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at noon in the Manchester City Offices, the lower level City Room.
