The River Raisin Watershed Council organizes events throughout the River Raisin watershed. This spring and summer they are organizing birding meet-ups with one scheduled for Manchester!

All bird enthusiasts — from seasoned birders to curious beginners — are invited to join other River Raisin birders for a casual get-together to spot and appreciate the feathered friends in our local area. This opportunity is a chance to learn from more experienced birders and share your own sightings. It’s open to anyone with an interest in birds! Bring comfortable walking shoes and any other items you feel fit the occasion, such as binoculars, field guides, and/or a comfortable folding chair.

The first meet-up is on Wednesday, April 24, starting at 5pm in Sterling State Park located at 2800 State Park Rd in Monroe. Meet at the parking lot east of the Lagoons near Trail Head.

The second is Wednesday, May 22, starting at 5pm at Heritage Park located at 3221 N Adrian Hwy in Adrian. Meet at Stubniz Center.

The third is Thursday, June 20, starting at 5pm at the Leonard Preserve here in Manchester, located off of N Union St, northwest of the city.

Registration is appreciated but not required. Register at https://www.riverraisin.org/upcoming-events (or scan QR code).
