Manchester District Library, located at 912 City Rd, will be hosting 2023–2024 Manchester Community Schools’ Young 5s–6th Grade Student Art Show this year from May 6 through May 12. There will be a main event celebration on May 10 from 6pm to 8pm.

Art teacher Isabella Lehrer explained that the Young 5s–6th Grade Student Art Show will showcase a wide variety of projects students have worked on over the course of this school year. She stated, “I love sharing that each student will have a piece of artwork displayed in the art show. The projects being showcased will display each artist’s individual expression in the arts, as well as many different mediums and art techniques they have learned and experimented with. I am also ecstatic to share that our STEAM class taught by Mr. Walsh and I will also have a section in the art show dedicated to their creations this school year.”

This year’s art show will follow a red carpet theme. Lehrer stated, “We are extremely excited for everyone to see the extra touches we have added to this year’s art show. I don’t want to spoil it all before the main event, but there may be a real red carpet and spotlights. We are encouraging guests to wear their best attire, as there will be fun opportunities for photo ops. A make-and-take station will also be available, inviting visitors to engage in hands-on art creation during the event.”

The art show is a wonderful opportunity for students’ creativity to be celebrated and for the community to see all the wonderful things they learn and create in the art room. Lehrer concluded, “We had such a wonderful turnout last year and I am really looking forward to seeing everyone again this year.”
