It is important to pull garlic mustard before it goes to seed.

from Legacy Land Conservancy

Curious about Legacy’s newest preserve at Iron Creek? Want to get a sneak peek before the property is open to the broader public? Join us on Thursday, May 9, from 3pm to 5pm for an Iron Creek Preserve workday to help remove the invasive species garlic mustard. Volunteers will be hand pulling the invasive species garlic mustard and disposing of it in garbage bags (bags will be provided by Legacy) so the plants don’t re-establish themselves after being pulled.

Please dress for the weather and in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Pants and closed-toe shoes are a must, regardless of the temperature, to protect from poison ivy and getting scratched up while working outside. Legacy will provide tools and work gloves, but you are welcome to bring your own if you have a pair you like. Don’t forget a water bottle and sunscreen. We also suggest you bring bug spray to reduce the risk of exposure to ticks and other biting insects. Meet at the future site of the preserve parking lot located at 11703 Noggles Rd, Manchester, MI 48158.

Please RSVP by filling out the Google form (which you can reach by visiting https://legacylandconservancy.org/events/ and scrolling down and clicking on “5/9 Workday at Iron Creek Preserve,” then clicking on Google Form link).
