At the May 20, 2024, City Council meeting a public hearing and vote on the 2024–2025 budget was held, along with the official levying of mills being approved. The Manchester City Council voted to levy the following millages:

  • General Operating Millage: 9.8416 mills (same as last year)
  • Streets Millage: 2.1522 mills (same as last year)
  • Parks Millage: 0.7731 (same as last year)
  • Fire Millage: 0.7967 (same as what was assessed when part of Manchester Township)
  • Bridge Bond: 0.8610 (less than 0.9552 assessed last year)

In all, with the change from being a village to being a city, residents will see an overall decrease of 1.318 mills that will be assessed from last year as Manchester Township taxes will not be assessed in 2024. A comparison for home taxable values is shown below for 2024 if the City was still part of Manchester Township:

It should be noted, overall, that residents will see an increase in taxes due to the five percent (5%) inflationary increase that was due by law to all property values coming into 2024.
