Cartooning class, Wario Wednesday, and Family Story Time continue in August at the Library

Family Story Time continues through the end of the summer with Miss Abby, Mr. Joe, and special guest readers presenting stories, music, and hands-on activities. Manchester District Library (MDL) hosts this weekly event for the littlest readers on Tuesdays at 11am in the youth area on the main floor. Recommended for preschool-age children with an adult.

MDL’s popular weekly gaming event Wario Wednesday meets weekly at 5pm on the lower level of the City Building at 912 City Rd. Drop into the City Room to go head-to-head with other racers in Mario Kart or face off against Mario and other gaming legends in Super Smash Bros. Snacks provided between rounds! All ages are welcome.

Bring your drawings to life in Cartooning 101 at the MDL on Thursdays at 4pm through the end of August. Learn how to make your doodles come alive in our introductory cartooning class! We’ll teach you how comics work as well as some tricks to make your characters look like they’re moving. This workshop is suitable for children as young as 9, but there will be more complicated lessons for teens and adults. Manchester District Library (MDL) is proud to serve the City of Manchester, Manchester Township, Bridgewater Township, and Freedom Township. Village of Clinton and Clinton Township residents are also eligible for MDL library cards and welcome to use all MDL resources. The MDL is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Trustees. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month in the lower level Village Council Chambers. Members of the public are welcome to attend. Manchester District Library hours are Monday–Thursday, 10am–8pm, Friday, 10am–6pm, and Saturday, 10am–2pm. The most up-to-date hours and the latest news are always available on the MDL website.
