During the month of May there were 163 calls for service in the City of Manchester. During this time, 79 traffic stops were made, resulting in 17 citations.

Noteworthy events in the City of Manchester during the month included:

  • On May 6, a Collaboration Deputy responded to the 200 block of Division Street for a report of a Fraud. The complainant reported that their credit card was used after they had given it to an unknown suspect only known as “Luke Miller” on Facebook Marketplace. The credit card was given to purchase an item that “Luke Miller” had for sale, but the item never arrived. Fraudulent charges totaling $1,307.99 were then accumulated in Washington, California, and Oregon.
  • On May 25, a Collaboration Deputy responded to the 100 block of Hibbard Street for a report of a Larceny from Automobile. The complainant reported that their vehicle had been ransacked overnight by an unknown suspect. Their wallet containing cash and credit cards was taken. There are no suspects or leads at this time.
  • Ordinance violations — 35: All were for grass ordinance violations, and tags were issued throughout the City.

The Sheriff’s Office has recently implemented a new, online police-reporting portal. Citizens can now file certain types of police reports online without needing contact with a deputy or having to come into a station. The following types of incidents may be filed online:

  • Harassing phone calls/No known suspects
  • Identity theft/No known suspects
  • Lost property
  • Larceny/Theft/No known suspects
  • Damaged property/Vandalism
  • Accidental/Non-intentional property damage

Any and all incidents can still be reported by calling 911; Washtenaw Metro Dispatch’s non-emergency dispatch number, (734) 994-2911; or in person at any of our Community Police Stations.

The online reporting portal can be accessed through the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office website at: https://www.washtenaw.org/3439/File-a-Police-Report
