Do you use the recycling bins behind the Manchester Township Hall? You may have noticed that that there is a change recently in what you can recycle there. Glass has always needed to be separated into its own bin, but recently that bin was removed. Western Washtenaw Recycling Authority explained, “The designated glass bins were removed at the request of Manchester Township’s board following noise complaints from residents.” They continued, “It is important to ensure that glass is not recycled in Manchester’s commingled recycling bins. Marked glass bins eliminate risk to workers who hand sort mixed recycling. For this reason, only recycle glass in marked, colored/clear drop-off bins and NOT in commingled bins.”

Their glass bins are cycled through their other bin locations, which can be found at https://wwrarecycles.org/bin-sites/. The closest location for Manchester Township residents is 8994 Austin Rd in Bridgewater Township.
