On Monday, November 11, Luther C. Klager Elementary School opened its doors to welcome the veterans of the Manchester community. Veterans were welcomed with student-made doughnuts and coffee from the high school Entrepreneurial STEM program. Then they were serenaded with patriotic songs for Veterans Day by the children of Luther C. Klager Elementary. Second-grade student leaders led the event and introduced the songs. Each class came up on the stage to perform a special number for the veterans in attendance. Songs featured this year included such classics as The Star-Spangled Banner, This Land Is Your Land, and many more.

This is the fourth year the school has put on a special event for the veterans. Thanks to the continued guidance and leadership of teacher Ellen Supers, plans are already underway for next year’s event. Please save the date and block off the morning of Tuesday, November 11, 2025, and join us again next year!
