School Board chooses superintendent search firm
submitted by Sandra Wiitala, Manchester Community Schools Board of Education
On Monday, March 3, 2025, after hearing presentations from three professional firms offering superintendent search services, the Manchester Community Schools Board of Education voted unanimously to partner with Michigan Leadership Institute (MLI) to guide our district in selecting our next educational leader. Having conducted over 500 successful superintendent/organizational leader searches across the state of Michigan, MLI offers us a collaborative approach to the selection process with an emphasis on input and feedback from our school family, including students, parents, teachers, staff, and community members.
The board will be meeting with MLI for a planning session on Monday, March 10. We will share soon thereafter a timeline identifying input session opportunities, including an online survey. These opportunities will be structured to allow our stakeholders to share their views regarding the strengths and abilities they feel are important in our next superintendent. This Board of Education is confident that with the guidance of MLI and positive collaborative efforts with our school family, we will successfully hire our best-fit candidate to serve as our next superintendent of Manchester Schools.
