There’s been more motion on Main Street recently with the reopening of Beauty by Kellie Dawna moving to the main level at 109 E Main St (former home of Dragonfly and Birch).

“I’ve been an aesthetician and the owner of Beauty by Kellie Dawna for five years now,” says Kellie Stockwell Whitt, the owner. “It’s been quite a journey — especially since I opened at the beginning of COVID, which was an incredibly uncertain time for businesses. But once I was able to reopen, I thrived right away.”

For all these years, she’s been operating above Comerica Bank in a small suite on the second level, but Kellie felt it was time for a change. “Moving down to Main Street means no more stairs or elevators — just easy access right off the street. Plus, being right next to Tres Beau Salon is a perfect match. They do bridal hair, and I handle bridal makeup — it just works.”

In September, Kellie introduced a new service: a Japanese-inspired spa treatment focused on scalp health. It has been a huge success! “This deeply relaxing treatment includes exfoliation, specialized shampoos, and a microscopic before-and-after analysis of your scalp,” she explains.

In her beautifully redecorated space, the peaceful atmosphere she has created is bringing her more business, but she still enjoys working independently.

“I still absolutely love what I do — more than ever, actually,” she enthuses. “This move, working independently, and adding new services have reaffirmed that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.”
