Manchester Community Schools breaks ground on Athletic Complex renovations

Manchester Community Schools held a groundbreaking ceremony at the Athletic Complex on Friday, March 21, 2025.

Dr. Brad Bezeau, superintendent, spoke first, introducing school board members and project partners, and talking about the project overall. Sandra Wiitala, school board president, spoke next, thanking community members and school families and explaining the bond paying for the renovations. After Wiitala, athletic director John Wilkins, Michael Coltre, the varsity track and field coach, and student-athlete senior Sawyer Lutton spoke, followed by the groundbreaking and photos.

The extensive renovations, which include improvements to the track and field area, entrances, and bleachers, are being funded with the bond passed by voters in November of 2023 and are scheduled to be completed before school starts in the fall.
