Manchester hosted the first of Washtenaw County Department of Veterans Affairs’s (DVA) Monthly Veterans Coffee Hour on Thursday April 3. Manchester Mill on the Water, which provided the venue, and Millie’s Coffeehouse were sponsors. The coffee hours will rotate throughout rural and underserved areas of Washtenaw County in order to strengthen connections among local veterans while providing access to resources.
Washtenaw’s DVA can help veterans, their survivors and dependents, file claims for benefits from Federal, State, and Local governments that may result with the following: Disability Compensation, VA Pension, Education Benefits, Financial Assistance (for Food, Rent/Mortgage, Medical, Transportation, Utilities, Dental, and Phone and Internet), Funeral and Burial Reimbursements (Federal and Local), Home Loan Guarantees, VA Life Insurance, and VA Health Care.
If you have questions about upcoming coffee hours, contact Brian Martin at martinb@washtenaw.org or 734-973-4553. If you missed the coffee hour but would like Veterans Affairs to connect you with resources, call 734-973-4540.
