The Children’s Ministry of Plymouth First United Methodist Church recently demonstrated remarkable generosity through dual donations to the Manchester Community Resource Center (CRC). The ministry organized a successful food drive that resulted in a substantial donation of 506.3 pounds of food to the CRC’s food pantry. The children also conducted a change-collection campaign, raising an impressive $530.48 that was donated to further support the CRC’s food-assistance programs.
Despite being located outside of CRC’s traditional service area, Plymouth First United Methodist Church has made these contributions as part of an initiative to expand their outreach to communities beyond their immediate vicinity. The food items collected were of excellent quality, with all donations being current and immediately usable for distribution to families in need.
The combined donations will significantly enhance the CRC’s ability to serve local residents experiencing food insecurity. The monetary contribution will specifically bolster the food pantry’s operations, enabling the purchase of meat and other nutritious staples that aren’t always available through regular donations. This financial support comes at a crucial time as the CRC continues to experience increased demand for their services.
The food donation will immediately stock the CRC’s shelves, providing a diverse selection of non-perishable items for distribution to community members. These substantial contributions from the children of Plymouth First United Methodist Church represent meaningful support for the CRC’s ongoing mission to address food insecurity in Manchester and surrounding areas.
The Community Resource Center, located at 710 E Main St in Manchester, provides a range of services to support local residents in need, with their food pantry being one of their core assistance programs.
