Spring sports roundup for week of April 7

On a beautiful spring afternoon in Manchester, three varsity sports took the field to cap off their first weeks of competition.
Varsity baseball took down Leslie in a close one, 8–7. With the win, the Dutchmen improved their record to 1–2 after a pair of losses to Madison. Baseball has two games this upcoming week, at home versus Vandercook Lake on April 14 and at Napoleon on April 17.
Softball also faced off against Leslie, falling in a high-scoring and entertaining game, 19–15. The Lady Dutch sit at 0–2 after falling to Madison on April 4. They’ll have opportunities to improve their record this week, with games at home versus Vandercook Lake on April 14 and at Napoleon on April 17.
The girls’ soccer team also took to the field on Friday against Leslie, falling in a tight 1–0 match. The soccer squad is 0–2, with a loss also coming at the hands of Lenawee Christian on April 1. The team will be back in action this week with games at Grass Lake on April 14 and at Michigan Center on April 16.
