During the month of April there were 140 calls for service in the City of Manchester, while 74 traffic stops were made resulting in 28 citations.

On April 21, a Collaboration Deputy responded to the 100 block of Hibbard for a report of a fraud. The complainant reported that their Medicare account was defrauded $26.50 after their account was accessed by an unknown person. Sgt. Joel Gebauer reported at the May 15 Council that the case is still under investigation.

There were a total of four Ordinance Violations cited in April. All of them were for a vacant building noticed at the address. Letters have been sent to the property owners in the 500 block of Territorial Road; two vacant buildings were cited, both in the 500 block of Granger Street. Another property was cited in the 600 block of City Road.

Don’t forget, the Sheriff’s Office has implemented an online police-reporting portal. Citizens can file certain types of police reports online without needing contact with a deputy or having to come into a station. The following types of incidents may be filed online:

  • Harassing phone calls/No known suspects
  • Identity theft/No known suspects
  • Lost property
  • Larceny/Theft/No known suspects
  • Damaged property/Vandalism
  • Accidental/Non-intentional property damage

Any and all incidents can still be reported by calling 911; calling Washtenaw Metro Dispatch’s non-emergency dispatch number, (734) 994-2911; or in person at any of our Community Police Stations. The online reporting portal can be accessed through the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office website at: https://www.washtenaw.org/3439/File-a-Police-Report
