As the school year came to a close, the little leaders of Luther C. Klager Elementary School celebrated with its local leaders during the annual Community Leadership Day.  Community Leadership Day originally started as a way to connect community leaders with students when the school became a Leader in Me school.  Each year, eight different organizations are invited to come out and contribute to the event, sharing stories about their careers and how they are leaders in our local community.

This year, the children at Klager were delighted to learn from a wide variety of people who contribute to our unique Manchester Community.  Special guest speakers this year came from: Manchester Farmers Market, Manchester Area Historical Society, American 1 Credit Union, Washtenaw County Sherriff’s Department, Manchester Township Fire Department, Manchester District Library, Manchester Mirror, and Manchester Community Resource Center.  As children rotated from station to station, they learned about each of the different organizations, and were gifted with a variety of treats such as stickers, coloring books, fliers, and even their own copies of the Manchester Mirror.

The team at Klager wishes to thank all the wonderful volunteer participants who came to support the annual event.  These volunteers know how to make learning fun and engaging in the final days of school!
