For the 43rd year, the Manchester Men’s Club will host the annual Independence Day fireworks on July 3 (with a rain date of July 4) at Carr Park in Manchester.
“We are shooting $18,000 total this year, which will be comparable to previous years with the increased cost in fireworks,” said the Men’s Club. The Men’s Club relies totally on sponsorships and donations from the community to ensure the fireworks go on year after year. Be generous when your local Men’s Club member stops by your home party to ask for a contribution! Or make a donation in advance at Old National Bank.
The Men’s Club will be running a beer tent this year again and admission will be $6 but attendees will get $1 off if they bring a can of non-expired shelf-safe food. The food collected will be donated to the Manchester Community Resource Center’s food pantry.
City Manager Michael Sessions said, “We are working on developing a traffic control order to alleviate congestion.” Be especially aware of children in and near the street as you’re seeking a parking spot.
The Men’s Club asks that attendees respect not only the parking orders but also assist with cleanup as they leave the park. Your cooperation in being a “good neighbor” is always appreciated!
