Letter to the editor: Manchester resident attends protest against Baldwin ICE facility

On Saturday, June 21, I attended a protest in Baldwin, Mich.

I find it distressing that Michigan supports a huge FOR PROFIT detention jail in Baldwin. The reality that people are kidnapped and brutally ripped away from children and family is inhumane. The size, scale, and urgency of the current administration is a maneuver to gain political power and pit people against neighbors.

Many people in our state are not aware of this prison detention center (North Lake Correctional facility, GEO group, Baldwin, MI M-37) and its FOR PROFIT motivation.
