The Rhine Talents Youth Concert Band from St. Gallen, Switzerland, is visiting Manchester. We are thrilled to announce a performance by this international group locally at Manchester High School in the auditorium on July 12 at 7pm.
Every summer, the Blue Lake International Exchange Program invites the European communities that generously hosted our youth ensembles to send a student group to the United States for a performance tour of the Midwest.
Michael Wachter, conductor, has been involved in the Blue Lake International Exchange Program for decades. His ensembles have hosted our Blue Lake groups for many years and they have traveled here as well. The group is primarily young musicians from the Rhine Valley (16–25 years old) who would like to take on additional music challenges. Their aim is to make musical delicacies consisting of works by Swiss composers accessible to a broad audience in the Rhine Valley and in the USA. This is a wind orchestra with 50–60 teenagers or young adults from all over the Rhine Valley.
The performance is free to the public. Please join us in welcoming these guests to our country and supporting music both locally and internationally!
