The Manchester District Library (MDL) is celebrating the conclusion of two successful summer programs with help and support from the local community.
The Summer Gazebo Concert Series completed its 2025 season with the final performance on July 31, leaving behind lasting memories and immense gratitude. It was wonderful to see local bands, regional talent, and music lovers come together in Wurster Park throughout the series.
“We extend our sincere thanks to the Friends of the Library for sponsoring our Summer Reading kick-off event featuring the popular band Gemini,” says MDL director Kathleen Dimond. “We are also grateful to Worth Repeating for sponsoring the performances by Rustbelt Revival and Jean Wilson and Friends. Finally, we want to express our appreciation to Brenda Bancroft and her family for their continuous support and presence throughout this year’s concert series.”
From everyone at MDL, thank you for being a part of this special community event!
The Summer Reading Program ended on August 1 with prizes drawn and awarded at a special wrap party in the Village Room. MDL expresses sincere gratitude for the incredible generosity from all the program donors, which made it all possible.
Special thanks to Manchester Market, Sassy Peacock, Purple Rose Theatre, Clinton Theatre, Millie’s Coffee Shop, Friends of the Library, and all the individuals who contributed their time and support.
According to Dimond, “Your donations allowed us to reward many readers, host entertaining events, and keep the joy of reading alive throughout the summer. Because of you, our library became a hub of imagination, discovery, and connection. We are incredibly proud of what we accomplished together and look forward to many more chapters ahead.”
